FIRST SATURDAYS – The History of Missouri Mules!

Mark your calendar for March 2 when Friends of Arrow Rock’s 2024 First Saturday Lecture series begins. It kicks off (pun intended!) with a fascinating presentation about Missouri mules! Presenter Laura Lee Grace will talk about the history, nature, and role of Missouri mules in the development of the early United States, particularly in the Midwest. Laura Lee is the great-niece of J. Frank Guyton of Lathrop, Missouri, who with his partner, WR Harrington, raised and sold more than 300,000 mules that were used in World War I.

The lecture begins at 10 a.m. at the Arrow Rock State Historic Site Visitor Center auditorium. Refreshments will be available before the lecture. First Saturday lectures are always free and open to all.
