The 9th installment of the Voices of Arrow Rock Series – “What She Inspired” 

In What She Inspired, Mirandy Williams, the fictional grandmother in the 1938 novel Persimmon Creek, comes to life sharing her perspective as an African American woman in Arrow Rock prior to World War II. We meet Nellie Page Carter, the author, along with Marshall Elementary School second grader, Nancy Hupp Blossom. Mi randy inspires empathy and compassion in Nancy as she navigated desegregation in Saline County during the 1950s.
