REENACTMENT OF GEORGE CALEB BINGHAM ELECTION SERIES

September 19, 20 & 21, we will bring a glimpse of 1850 Missouri to you! The 1850 Arrow Rock Election Series reenactment is designed to bring George Caleb Bingham’s “Election Series” of paintings to life by attempting to recreate the 1850 election within historic Arrow Rock. These events will give visitors an interactive window into 1850s Missouri. The events will begin with a period torchlit parade on Friday night, with the main portion of events occurring on Saturday including debates and the actual election. These activities will not only showcase the history as shown in Bingham’s paintings but will also bring the festival atmosphere of mid-19th Century elections to a 21st Century audience.”
